Meeting one of my friends, Amadou Dabitao
Hello everyone,
A huge thank you to everyone who has already ordered. The book is available in bookshops and online, notably on Amazon.
Because everyone can have an impact at their own scale, I am delighted to announce that I will donate all of my author royalties to BN Asso, the association behind the media outlet Banlieusard Nouveau, which showcases talent from the neighbourhoods. 😊

I met Amadou Dabitao, the founder of Banlieusard Nouveau and BN Asso, on a jury where he presented his project. Originally from Gennevilliers, in the Hauts-de-Seine, he founded a media outlet in the heart of the Paris suburbs. A computer engineer by training, in 2020 he left his job as a web developer to generate a positive impact in the environment where he grew up and whose good and bad sides he has experienced first-hand.
Amadou launched this media outlet to showcase talent from the neighbourhoods by giving them a platform that highlights their projects and actions. The long-term goal is to create a virtuous circle: encouraging role models to emerge so that they influence young people from working-class neighbourhoods.

The royalties generated by this book will help to fund:
- the purchase of cameras, microphones and other technical equipment to produce good-quality, positive content for young people;
- the organisation of an event called “Banlieusard Valley”, aimed at making entrepreneurship more accessible in the neighbourhoods;
- training several young people in media professions.
Have a great day, everyone,
Romain
