A moving testimony from Faith, 17: leader, student and mother

As mentioned in my previous email, here is a first incredible encounter, with Faith, an inspiring 17-year-old leader, student and mother.
“It was Faith, 17, who gave me one of the best leadership lessons I have ever received. We were meeting at her home at dawn, in the heart of Kibera, the largest slum in East Africa.”
As part of our mission, Faith told us her story on video:
“A neighbour then alerted the NGO Carolina For Kibera. Faith was immediately given psychological and financial support with one precise goal: to let her go back to school. And it was with immense pride that the young girl then showed us around her school, where she is class representative and considered by the headmaster as one of the most promising students he has met.
And then, as we were leaving, she took me aside. She asked whether I could help her find sanitary pads for her classmates who had none, and who therefore had to stay at home when they had their periods. What moved me is that this girl, who owned nothing, asked me for only one thing… and it wasn’t even for herself.”
“At 17, she already had the spirit of a leader. Who would have spotted that quality between the lines of a CV?”
